St. Paul, MN – 12/23/2005 ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that, to date, 48 State Qualifiers for the 2006 “Best of the US Amateur Triathlete Competition” have been determined. They are:

AL - Buster Britton Triathlon at Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, AL on June 10 (400 yd swim – 12 mile bike – 3 mile run).
AK - The Alaska State Triathlon Championship in Knik, AK, on August 6 (Intermediate Distance).
AZ –Sahuarita Lake Triathlon in Sahuarita, AZ on May 29 (1K swim – 25K bike – 5K run).
AR – Ozark Valley Triathlon/AR State Triathlon Championships near Fayetteville, AR on June 25 (1000 yd swim – 19 mile bike -4 mile run).
CA – Santa Cruz Triathlon in Aptos, CA on July 9 (Intermediate Distance).
CO – Prospect Park Triathlon at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs on June 25 (Swim 750m - Bike 13.1 miles - Run 5K).

WELCOME TO THE "BEST OF THE US AMATEUR TRIATHLETE COMPETITION'S" MONTANA
QUALIFIER!

St. Paul, MN - 4/26/05 -  Jack Clarkson, director of the Janet Clarkson  Memorial, and "Best of the US.." management invite Montana's triathlon community to participate in the 2005 Janet Clarkson Memorial Triathlon on June 18. This popular event is part of the inaugural "Best of the US Amateur Triathlete Competition," and promises to be hotly contested. A special invitation is extended to the elite amateur athletes of Big Sky Country, as the fastest male and female resident amateurs will advance to the "Best of the US Championships" in picturesque Gilford, NH on August 20, where they'll race head-to-head with the winners of the other 49 state qualifiers.

In order to insure that all states will be represented at the Championship, a 5-deep passdown system will be in effect. If the "Best of the US.." state champion is unable to attend the championship, his or her slot will be offered to the next in line, and so on.

St. Paul, MN--3/08/05 -  The four-year-old Janet Clarskon Memorial Triathlon will host  the "Best of the US Amateur Triathlete Competition's" Montana State Qualifier. The event is arguably the program's  most unique qualifier. It features a .64 mile point-to-point swim, a 7.3 mile bike leg over logging roads (mountain bikes are recommended) and a 5.2 mile cross-country run. It will be staged on Saturday, June 18 at the Madison Arm Resort on picturesque Lake Hebgen near West Yellowstone, MT. The fastest male and female amateur residents will earn the right to race against the winners of the other 49 state qualifiers at the "Best of the US Championship" in beautiful Gilford, NH on August 20.

The event is named for Janet Clarkson, an intrepid outdoorswoman, who died of Ewings Sarcoma in 2001 at the age of 37.
